One of the reasons Barcelona are currently suffering financial lack at the moment is because of the transfer deals of the club in recent years. How can a player like De Jong be the highest earner in Spanish league even when better and more talented players like Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe shares the same league with him. Xavi Hernandez saw all these things and publicly spoke about the club's poor financial decisions and instead of working with him to right the wrongs, the club president Joan Laporta decided to sack him. I don't see Barcelona getting out of the financial woes anytime soon if you ask me.
