With the new Chelsea board and management, I feel like I can not bet on Chelsea to win and lose at the same time. Chelsea is likely to struggle in many games this season, and I can’t afford to bet on them losing. Every team seems to be chasing a better version of Guardiola, but Chelsea doesn’t measure up mentally or tactically. I didn’t see any new patterns of play today in fact, the style they played today was disappointing and made little sense.
Well against Manchester City it is easy to say Chelsea will lose because it’s clear that they are still not up there yet and the fact that they changed manager just after last season proves that they will not be in shape yet. They are likely to struggle in more games to come but they will only get better as the season progresses, they Didn’t play so bad and were able to create some chances for themselves and if they have had a good striker then it would be a different story entirely.
Chelsea still have a lot to improve this season if they want to compete better in the Premier League, because if they don't improve their way of playing in every game, it will be very worrying that they will have to fight not to be relegated this season. Because all other teams in the Premier League at this time (excluding the promoted teams) have made more significant improvements so that they can compete in every game even if they have to lose, but not ridiculously.
I have so much trust in Enzo Maresca and i don’t think Chelsea will be that poor to get relegated, they had a similar start last season and they were able to fight their way back. This is just the beginning of the season and we still have a long way to go so losing just this match doesn’t prove that they will be relegated. This is Manchester City we are talking about so I expected this result.
