With the new Chelsea board and management, I feel like I can not bet on Chelsea to win and lose at the same time. Chelsea is likely to struggle in many games this season, and I can’t afford to bet on them losing. Every team seems to be chasing a better version of Guardiola, but Chelsea doesn’t measure up mentally or tactically. I didn’t see any new patterns of play today in fact, the style they played today was disappointing and made little sense.
Chelsea still have a lot to improve this season if they want to compete better in the Premier League, because if they don't improve their way of playing in every game, it will be very worrying that they will have to fight not to be relegated this season. Because all other teams in the Premier League at this time (excluding the promoted teams) have made more significant improvements so that they can compete in every game even if they have to lose, but not ridiculously.
Don you think it is too early to judge Chelsea's performance from the first game they played for the season, and we all know it was a game played against the strongest team in the premier league. If Chelsea had played their game with any random premier league and they failed to win then we can quickly express the dissapointment. I know Chelsea have not been performing well for a longtime and fans was expecting to see something different in the first game. There is still enough time to see what Chelsea will be upto in their games this season, I don't want to use this first game to make conclusions.
One game against Manchester City, an elite team. Come on, folks! City is the Premier League gold standard; it is not any team. Pep's got them performing like monster; even the top teams struggle to stay up. So, Chelsea lost. Big deal. Enzo is a wise man who will sort everything out. Maybe they need to tighten up the defense, maybe they need to be more aggressive on offense. But its one game, folks.
Every team in the long Premier League season experiences ups and downs. Recall that early on especially, even the best teams have down days. Thus, lets allow Chelsea have time to settle in. I know they will return stronger and I have faith in them.
