I somewhat agree with you, but I don't really believe this is always the case here. Take you for instance, Barcelona under the management of Pep Guardiola as a coach , they had star players like, Lionel Messi ,Iniesta, Xavi and Pique, Bosquet, Dani Alves, mascherano, and even Puyol if I'm not wrong, all under Pep Guardiola as Barca coach all were obedient to Pep as at the time, personality of coach plays an important role regardless ,

There is no doubt that Guardiola is a fantastic coach. He is a living legend. On the other hand, we know Kompany's history. Kompany previously coached Burnley. And we haven't seen Burnley improve with KOmpany. Rather, we have seen a further decline in Bunnley's performance. The team failed to qualify for the Premier League.
