You are right and if you look at it overall Osimhen's performance has indeed improved, but last season he had several problems that resulted in a decline in performance. A coach has a view of the players he likes and maybe Lukaku is a player he has been with so he understands his form of play better and chooses Lukaku over Osimhen. Moreover, the drama that happened to Osimhen which never ends so that when Conte uses his services it will slightly affect the consistency in the form of the game because he is no longer wholeheartedly playing for Napoli.

Antonio Conte did not give Victor Oshimen any chance to play with Napoli again and the club tried to sell him, even though at least the coach could have given him a chance to see how far Oshimen's abilities were this season under Antonio Conte's tutelage. It is not certain that Oshimen will thwart his plans even though he had problems but last season Oshimen still contributed well to the Napoli club and created many goals even though not as many as the previous season 2022/23 because Oshimen was injured twice and made him absent several times if he had not been injured maybe he would have been fine and still had the same performance.
