https://dailypost.ng/2024/09/08/epl-arteta-reportedly-ended-arsenals-interest-in-osimhen-after-public-spat-with-finidi/I am glad that Victor Osimhen finally secured a club after all the delays and tensions. Seeing this headline today, I think it is worth discussing because it has some lessons. To be a successful player, talent is not enough, character is more important. Victor made some mistakes that affected his transfer, he has anger management issues. His unguided comments about some coaches he has worked under are not okay. Coaches should have the right human management skills but no coach would like to work under a player who cannot control his emotions.
I like to believe that he has learnt his lessons now.
Victor Oshime wouldn't be a bad idea but I doubt he'll want to play for a club who had history of not winning European Competitions.
If Arsenal persisted and was able to meet up to the wage requirement that he was demanding, he would have ended up in Arsenal even without us not winning any European competition yet. These players like to relish the idea that they go down in history as their signing was what helped the club make a new record, they know they can achieve legendary status that way.
