I strongly believe this is just a big misunderstanding... When you copy and paste a certain address into any explorer, the amount it shows is not the collective worth of your whole wallet ^{[what you see is just for that specific individual address]}!

This is also what I think about what happened to op. I also checked the address on mempool.space and the balance shows the same as you have explained. I think it is sent to a change address because if it's compromised then there won't be any btc left. Even a very small amount of bnb when I sent it to a compromised bnb address is that it was sent to another wallet address right after it was sent to the wallet where I sent it.
