I think that the best strategy to deal with spammers is to ignore them. There's a block button for a reason. We don't even need mods for this, just block any user you don't like and move on. Heck, you don't even need to block anyone when you can just ignore their existence.

The block button you are talking about is which one, as the only button I know is to ignore the user, which can always be seen on the down side of any user's comment or post, which you might not like and want to ignore them. I guess the ignore is what you are referring to as block buttons.

This forum, I consider it a neutral ground. You can also help fish out those you consider spammers and report them if you see their behaviour very weird and inappropriate. You can even go as far as calling them out on the reputation board, or better yet, you can report those users to the spam report thread. We have one for AI posts too.
