And many countries bought it. Some even used used this "Pegasus" software to spy on their political opponents.

I'm more of a tech guy and what interests me is what the hell was in those pagers because I've seen videos of them exploding and the force was comparable to a large firecracker. The problem is a firecracker would need to be the size of the pager to explode in such way. Is 80% of the package filled with batteries? Also, lithium batteries usually don't blow up but create a lot of smoke and burn for a long time. How did they make these things explode?
There have been reports that the pagers that exploded were part of a batch of newly-purchased devices from a Taiwanese manufacturer. The manufacturing company, in turn, is reported to have said that this batch of devices had been made by a European distributor.
Nobody wants to take the blame

But it looks like somebody approached Israelis to get them to start spyware businesses, just so they could be exposed, taking heat off the 'five eyes' from Snowden leaks.
Why so heavy in Latin America? The U.S. / UK has been desperately fighting indigenous interests in Latin America for decades. Whether anti drug, anti terror, anti communist, the targets are always indigenous, never white. Why would Israel walk into that swamp except under pressure from U.S./UK.
2) Egypt is fully on board. They are waiting for the right moment, probably caused by something in Libya.
3) Even an ounce of the powder in firecrackers can cause great damage, not a high military explosive. Any explosive produces more oxygen than it needs, so the power is related to how compacted it is. Just like with a shaped charge you can put a cone under explosive and weight on the other side and it will create damage out of proportion.
4) In twenty years the truth will come out that the brits who largely run mossad arranged it, and then Israelis though it made them look slick so they took the credit.
