"DuckDuckGo blocked in Indonesia over ..., gambling search results." which has dropped a bomb on me. I have never been in this country and always thought it is loyal to gambling. But it seems to be not. How does the matter lie at present? I wonder this because of my plans to visit Indonesia for a couple of weeks and when visiting countries for the first time I commonly show myself round the local casinos.
Well Indonesia according to research is one of the highest Muslim religious country with seriousness in their beliefs. I think they did that to avoid their children and most of their religious people to stay clear from addiction of gambling, pornography, cyber crime and other online deceptive and curruptive practices that will mislead or twist their Faith. Because internet can be misleeding and distructive if not controlled.
But as for you @satscraper, I think in every country I believe there are offline or local gambling place which they gamble offline in a one on one bet which you can just follow up if you find it interesting. But if you can't play such games I guess you can log-in with your online gambling app and continue with your gambling using another country VPN I think maybe it would work.
Knowing on muslim religion on which gambling is really that prohibited. I dont know on whats the major religion of people mostly in Indonesia but since its mentioned about Islam then its known that gambling isnt really that permitted.On the time that they've seen that there's a sudden spike or increase of gambling activity or interest then this is the time that they would really be giving out some bans on which it will really be that somewhat understandable on the things that their government is doing. It isnt really just that for the sake of religious aspect but also for the sake of the protection into its citizens in regarding gambling addiction.
Just like on what everyone is really that telling or saying on this one that people will really be finding up ways or methods for them to bypass for them to be able to play up gambling no matter what.
The country of Indonesia is a Muslim country that at the same time also has Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Confucianism. But of course the majority there are actually Muslim people. So, whatever Indonesia did, it's normal because of the Muslim belief that gambling games are really forbidden to them.
Now, if there are still people out there who will play online gambling, for sure they will use a VPN so that they can continue their passion for gambling. Although they should also be prepared for the consequences they may face at the casino.
