While this sounds like a good idea but the major issue will arise when creating the category.
Who would know what trends will arise and which category to place them under and obviously their names.
Besides that, it would be a really long duration because we cannot close the bet unless the trend has finally arrived.
It might even take years to complete 1 round. Too many complications to be honest.

That major issue will repeated from time to time as long as the investor never learn from their mistake. They will get in the trap from the trends that arise without think how to pick the right project. They only want to make a big profit from crypto so they just invest in some project and hope they can get the big profit. They follow the trend without research what the project they should pick because they don't want to be late to take the profit.

The trend will always change but research to find the project will be there needed by the investor. So no matters what the trend is the investor must research the trends and not just follow what other people do.
