As far as I remember, he said that he could reach Platinum VI effectively by wagering on sports so I guess he wagered a lot on sports (at least in the previous few months).
It is normal if he received bonus for special sports or election bet because it can be said as an appreciation from Stake to their loyal players who actively betting but of course I believe there must be also minimum requirement in order to get the bonus.
Since I'm not betting on sports much, I have never received such sports bonus email Cheesy
