It's just another phenomenon that gamblers often assumes that they have some control over the outcome of their bets especially if they have been doing it for a while even though every time is just purely random there's no skill involved. Take dice for an example we might assume that we can control and influence the result of it by throwing softer or harder or in anyway that our brain recognize a pattern and keep tells us it's a way to win the game. So let's discuss about it.
When it comes to dice I believe that there is a level of connection that we get when we often throw the dice. These patterns work out most times, repeatedly that make us believe there is a pattern to it. It's not a complete fallacy. I have witnessed it when I was very fond of dice games. I dont know about other games but when it comes to dice a gambler can easily recognize a pattern, stick to it and it will keep working for them.
Nobody can control the outcome of gambling unless they're manipulating it, gambling is supposed to be based basically on luck. Most casino games like slot and dice are based on luck, there's no special skills that is involved to play and win, so any feelings of being in control while playing can as well be seen as illusions. But skills can be involved in sports bet, if a bettor understands teams strengths and weaknesses, it can guide them to analyze matches. Being overconfident and having a feeling of being in total control during gambling can lead to chasing loses and degenerate to addiction.
Gambling cannot be manipulated not even with spiritual activities. I have heard news about people who say they do see visions of games that they should bet on and when they do they win the bet. That's a big lie. There are other things we can do when gambling that will increase our chances of winning the game its not luck. If we are not prepared or we dont do the right thing we cant get lucky. So dont forget about the process that brings about the luck too.
