He just hasn't gotten a regular playing position in the team, but Ancelotti still plays him in certain matches and even though he comes off the bench. The tight competition makes him lose the opportunity to play regularly because in that position there are several other players who are much better in quality than him. If Real Madrid gives him the opportunity to play at another club as a loan player, it would be much better so that he can continue to hone his talent.

But so far there has been no further discussion regarding Arda's loan status and maybe Ancelloti is still considering playing him when he wants to rotate. For a long-term position, perhaps taking advantage of his loan would be much better because Arda is still quite young and has a long career ahead of him.

I believe usually sophomore wall is true for almost any player. When you have your first ever rookie season at a big club like this at a young age, you are not expected to do anything, not by your team, not by the opponents, so whatever you do ends up being a bit of a great addition to what was expected, which was nothing.

Sophomore year the team knows what you are capable of doing, and opponents knows who you are, so you have harder time to adjust to playing with that much pressure, usually ends not so great. This is where the real stars are born, if you can overcome this season, third season is even harder because you focus on going over that hump and be great, and fourth season you become amazing and start to play almost every game.

Most players handle these at other clubs, like Jude came in here ready, Mbappe too, all because they played their big club seasons at other teams, but Arda got his start here, sort of like Vini, who spent years training to be who he is.
