, there are some personal reasons why i couldn't continue with this challenge but i will be back in the future more especially now that this thread is seen as The stupidest thread on bitcointalk. Roll Eyes

I am going to have to take a look at that "click-baity" and negative nancy thread, just to see how dumb it is or if there might be any redeeming ideas contained therein besides just being a hater thread.

I guess some folks just love to hate and/or to get attention from such hate while trying to present themselves as if they actually had any important contributions to society.. so whatever, I am not going to proclaim that such hate threads are not within the realm of free speech.. and members are surely entitled to express their ideas, even the seemingly dumb ones.

I am so fucking pissed off as I deliberately did not post totals for the length of the thread.

for a few reasons
1) the pushups are modded thus easier.
2) I hurt my toe back in June and it was long to heal
3) I finally start to list myself and less than two or three days later Don Pedro posts his garbage.
4) he is legit breaking the rule no harm as if he ends this thread it harm my health and the health of others.

I haven't had a chance to look at Don Pedro's thread yet, but still, I have a hard time imagining a negative nancy dweeb like that being able to effect the shutting down of a thread like this or even taking such nutjob preferences about what others post about to be shut down or otherwise to hamper our decision to participate in a thread like this.

No problem for me. For me, it seems to help for any of us if we are posting in an area of our interest, so several of us benefit from the efforts and discussion points of others in this thread.. and doing pushups every day (or even on a fairly regular basis) can be really difficult for guys to continue to accomplish, so it seems that we build on each other like a snowball rolling down hill.. and so hopefully you are able to get yourself back on the pushup floor at some point.

These days DirtyKeyboard might not even be manually reviewing his script every time that it runs, unless perhaps someone says something to him or if he might notice some kind of an obvious error. I am pretty sure that DirtyKeyboard's script will not recognize future dates (even if it is just one day), so when the script just ran a few hours ago, I believe that it might have ONLY allowed dates of up to 2024-10-14 and it would not have had recognized dates of 2024-10-15 or later. So if I understand the matter correctly, the next time that the script runs it will recognize dates that are up to 2024-10-15, but it will not recognize dates of 2024-10-16 or later. I am not 100% sure about that, but it does seem potentially problematic if you are putting the next day into your report even if you are already in the next day in terms of where you are at when DirtyKeyboard's script runs for everything in the previous day and earlier.

Here is the code that matches reports with a correctly formatted optional date in it

Basically comparing what is in the lastest record vs what is in that users latest report. Computers start counting at 0, so [user][1] is days_in, the 2nd item in a pushup report (ignoring the 100k).

So to make the table the report needs at least 1 pushup, and be a brand new entrant OR repeat reporter with a greater days in, and a greater number of pushups, and the date is at least as current as yesterday UTC. If the date was from last year, for instande, in that case it would be picked up as a report with no optional date, and as you stated, later in the script be assigned the UTC date of the report. I think future dates should also be excluded as you alluded to. That seems pretty simple.

Frequently my eyes glaze over when reading computer code and/or script, so frequently it tends to be helpful for me to hear a layman's explanation along side of what I might be trying to figure out what the script might be doing and how it is being accomplished.. ..

So my main thing is that I am glad the script seems to work pretty damned good for mostly picking up the reports that members make and putting the substance in the pushup table, and you seem to have been working out most (if not all) of the glitches as they might arise from time to time.

I am not sure. I was getting the impression that the script places the results into the table in reverse chronological order in terms of the top would be the person who submitted his pushup report the latest prior to the running of the script or if it is the last pushup report that the script reads prior to publishing the results in the pushup table.

It probably was a lot of work to set up the script and then to make tweaks to the script, but now that it is running, it probably does not take as much work, unless some bug/glitch (or bad results) ends up getting spotted.
