It was unfortunate and a gray area but usually, such a call goes in favor of the batter when the on-field decision is not out. Not today. It's part of the game, so it's all good and we shouldn't read much into it.
It was a tough call for sure which is why he definitely deserved the call to go in his favor and literally everyone were aware of the fact that he was the only one standing between the Kiwis and history. Trash umpiring!
Pant dismissal wasn't really too much controversial. There was clear audio spike when the ball passed the bat. Rishabh Pant was doing very well, that's why some supporters might address his wicket as controversial.
I disagree. It was 100% controversial. The spike could have occurred due to his bat hitting his pad too which was what he told the umpires. Kiwis got really lucky with that call.
