If I watched the Carabao Cup last month ago, Manchester City it seem not interested to win the match and they are letting Tottenham to win. Maybe because they thinks that tournaments is not so important, and the stock players they have are less likely to continue many tournaments. Several substitution players also has the injured, and Pep is dizzy about choosing who can fill the position if all the players are vulnerable to injury to face Premier and Champions League matches. I am sure when meet Tottenham on next 28th November Manchester City won't let them win again like the last match. they will struggle to hold the top table, premier league has the 1st priority to get back from top standing Liverpool.

Manchester City has won the Premier League four times in a row, I don’t think any club in Premier League history has done that. Pep Guardiola will be looking to create history with Manchester City as the club to win the Premier League five times in a row. I believe that’s the reason why they are focusing all their attention on the Premier League games and not the other tournaments. Which is why I agree with you that Manchester City were not interested in the Carabao Cup hence their performance against Tottenham Hotspur.
