Its's good advice but even if you're earning a lot of money and you're doing well with your business, if you are not in the habit of saving for rainy days and you are spending a lot not commensurate to what you are earning, you will find yourself financially broke if you are a big spender even if you are doing well with your business.

If you have lots of businesses going for you, you can always survive the rainy days.

It is a correct idea that when your financial situation is not very good or your expenses and income are at the same level, saving will never help you change your financial situation. I do not deny that when people reduce their expenses, they are able to save a little more, but if your income does not increase, then you will not be able to do much by reducing your expenses.
