Isn't it the reason why those living with addiction seal their mouths and struggle all day? The society do not care about addicts, the problem is said to be theirs to handle.

It is not that the society does not care about gambling addicts, it is that most people are judgemental about gambling addiction and often relate them to criminals. Since gambling is frowned upon by many religious denomination, people who are followers of these religions thinks badly of people who are addicted to gambling and often gossip about them saying not many bad things about them, reason why gamblers who are addicted just keep it to themselves and seldom ask help or worse, addicted gamblers does not know that they are already addicted.

If consistent care were offered to addicts, many of them would need no therapist. Because close friends help to correct disorders faster and effectively than anybody else.

Regardless of the treatment of people on gambling addicts in society, when one saw the sign of gambling addiction, he should find someone to confide with, best would be the elder of the family, he may hear some words but eventually, they are the only people who will be with him during his struggles. Close friends can help yes but unless this close friend treat him as real family, only the family will be with him through thick and thin.
