I actually love your last advice. Indeed, "you as a living, conscious human being have survived against odds much higher than any lottery". I mean, our chance of being born is about one in 400 trillion. And then, if you take all the dangers into account, our chances of making it to 20 are pretty slim. So, being past 20 we should feel happy as much as we would be winning a lottery.
