Considering that the season is still very long, anything can still happen.
So far Liverpool seems more consistent than Manchester City, but it is not certain that they can maintain it throughout the season when several important players are injured.

The points gap between Liverpool and Manchester City is now quite large and on the one hand, this has made Liverpool safer to lead the Premier League standings. Liverpool are still very likely to lose a few points that make Manchester City close, so there is no reason to underestimate Manchester City when they can improve their performance.
