I was not at all prepared to see such a terrible batting performance by West Indies on the third day. Since West Indies batsmen batted very responsibly on the second day, I thought that West Indies would dominate the match on the third day as well. And the team would be able to take a lead of at least 100+ runs. But at the end of the first innings, West Indies team was 18 runs behind Bangladesh.
It was unexpected that Bangladesh team would take the lead even after scoring only 164 runs. Bangladesh was able to take the lead due to the good performance of Bangladeshi bowlers. Especially Nahid Rana bowled very well in the first innings. Nahid Rana took 5 important wickets. Hasan Mahmud took two wickets.
We see good results from Bangladesh team sometimes only because of their good bowling. I have seen good batting in very few matches from this team. Bangladesh team is not able to win big targets. Bangladeshi batsmen are not able to stay at the crease for long in Test format. Bangladeshi batsmen are not able to bat at smart strike rate in T20 format. Bangladesh was able to take the lead against West Indies only because of the good performance of the bowlers.
I don't know why Bangladesh team management has given a place to a stupid opener like Mahmudul Hasan Joy in the squad. Mahmudul Hasan Joy's total collection in the two matches against West Indies is probably 14 runs. Mahmudul Hasan Joy collected 3 runs in the first innings and he could not collect any runs in the second innings. Bangladesh lost their first wicket before collecting any runs.
