I don`t think that we can call it "instinct". It looks mostly like the kind of addiction. Instinct is about when you plan to bet and make a bet without any analyze, just believe your foreseeing as for me.
But even in such a situation i think that such kind of "instinct" is based on your own experience, you`ve got in gambling before.

I agree with you that the mentality of chasing your losses is not instinct, but hope of winning. Sometimes, you might have also made your analysis and then yiu decide to change it due to what your instinct. However, I think when we gamble without much work or analysis, we have enjoy the fun more when we win because we will appreciate our luck.

On the one hand, if you make your analysis and win your bet, you will not understand the great impact that your luck added to make your win come through because you will feel that it was by your own doing.

It depends on what kind of gambling we prefer. If we are in the gambling for fun - it doesnt matter is it sport betting or casino games - we don`t analyze and just change money for emotions - like visiting the cinema.
For such gambling it would be better not to think before betting - just feel. It is really exciting.
But if we are gambling for money - i exclude all games, i don`t understand deeply and all games, that depend on luck only. In such gamblig - no any intuition, no any instinct, no any advices. Only own research as full as possible. After it i get 2 prizes - money and feeling how clever is i

But it is a job - it is not so exciting it can be and takes much more time.
