We all agree that a sealed device is the safest option, and since Trezor was willing to re-send the device at no cost, what was the problem? if the seal was broken again, then nothing changed, but perhaps a different agent wouldn't ruin it.

It's also clear that the OP was impatient and wanted to test the device. Most probably the device is safe and shit won't happen, but this was not a good security practice.
