If they realize that they can not earn money easily from gambling, they will start to reduce their gambling activity and time. They will try to understand that gambling is just for fun and not a place to make money. We can't spent money and lost a lot in gambling because we must think what other problem that can arise.
That is what some people will do but some people genuinely thinks that if you just keep going and playing at some point you will win and you can get back you have lost. Which I suppose is correct. If you play for 100 times, at least 1 time you will win. But the question should not be the chances of winning but the amount of money you are losing by continuing. Is playing for 100 times and winning 1 time worth all the money you have already lost? Probably not but that is not how some people think. They just want to win and they will not stop until they do.
Even I feel that out of 100 attempts, there is no chance that we can definitely win even once, it all depends on our respective luck whether we can win or not. I agree with you, let's say we play 100 times and win once, will that return our total losses? I don't think so. This is what happens, some people are very happy when they win, but they forget how much they have lost before getting a big win like that. That pattern will continue to repeat itself, and maybe they will start playing with very high expectations that eventually they get caught up in addiction.
