Yes, for security reasons since you can be able to control your wealth yourself in your wallets since you have your private key or seed phrase in your custody.

If you can have a pear to pear transaction with a reliable person, sober even bother bringing them to the exchange anymore, but if you don’t have and you are ready to cash out your money, then you can send your coins down to any reliable centralized exchange and swap them as you may wanted

Always remember that not your keys, not your coins.
