Dr Bitcoin podcast update on the contempt charges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bzaRloj6XE

Justice Mellor asked what country Craig was in and Craig replied "Asia". Dr Mellor told him Asia isn't a country  Grin.

They mentioned on the podcast that extradition is usually only reserved for very serious crimes so it's likely that will never happen unless he breaches his conditions. They could probably put an arrest warrant out for him still though and he'd get nabbed at an airport. I wonder if Justice Mellor may have given him a jail sentence had he actually been in court and not just appearing via video link.

He was sentenced to a 1 year suspended sentence so unfortunately - no jail time this time.
Any bets that he keeps up and eventually will have to serve time? https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2024/dec/19/craig-wright-man-who-falsely-claimed-to-be-bitcoin-creator-sentenced-for-continuing-to-sue-developers

Well hopefully he does. I wonder if not paying the new 250k fine will find him foul of it. One thing is I don't think he will ever set foot in the UK again, much like Australia. I wonder what country he is actually in in Asia. I think there's only a few countries in the world that don't have extradition treaties with the UK so he shouldn't be safe there. My main hope is that the Australian Tax Office will actually get their finger out and file a warrant for his arrest.

Looking at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/extradition-processes-and-review, UK have such treaties with 146 territories (where not all of them classified as country). There are fair amount of country is Asia which isn't listed on that webpage such as Cambodia and Japan.

Where is Craig's wife from? She's Asian - maybe Thailand or something. Wherever she's from that's probably the more likely.
