I know you want to compare the performance of Vincent Kompany's men this season with that of Xabi Alonso's men of last season but the truth is that despite not playing unbeaten, Bayern Munich have been the best performing German club this season as well as leading the league table.

The thin is that if you consider they have fired the previous manager for the performance and the current one is doing better and supposedly he would have done better last year then that is false, because even with the results they have now they wouldn't have been able to beat Bayer last year, so, how can then draw any conclusion and be sure that even without changing the trainer Bayern won't still be leading now?
You can't claim the changes have done the situation better when you're on top just because your adversaries play way worse than last year!
