I don't think it's actually wise to convert your bitcoin to USDT to buy back, instead i will suggest you should keep doing DCA to gradually accumulate bitcoin holding and stashing. Moreover, i don't also buy the idea of holding usdt instead of that it's better to hold decentralized coin or holding directly USD. You know most doesn't know how to make investment and they usually think that the only time to buy or invest in bitcoin is when market is rising and that is very wrong to say, so holding back while the market keep undergoing it phase will also positioned you in a better price level..

Here on my case on which i have that divided up my investment on 2 portions on which the one which is intended to be hold for long term and theres for short term period on which you are the ones will really be that making out some adjustments whether you will be accumulating or having some USDT reserve for that on the moment or time that the market will be having its correction then you do able to make out some adjustments accordingly. Profitability will really be that a matter on decisions because not all will really be having on the same mindset when it comes into their decision making because there are ones who are really that too scared on taking up some action and instead on diving into some potential opportunity they do just simply missed it up before they cant bare up with the risks.

Well, its not really that bad to have such behavior because this could save you up on potential loss specially if you arent that sure on what you are doing. Invest on what you can afford to lose and never make yourself that being that impulsive or being desperate because this will be resulting into tons of mistakes into the things that you've been doing. So better take it slow and be mindful on every step you are making and dont be that rushing up on making profits because this will be that prone into tons of mistakes.

For having two types of investment is actually cool because during the short term investment when your target is met you can actually sell off and be waiting for the long term, though for short term investment, when the target are easily met you can sell so easily or either decides to sell off your holdings. Most people just as me do extends my holdings if i watched and observed the market to be that promising i wouldn't be that too hasting to sell off because there are possibilities of market creating more and more higher price level.

But in the case of long terms investment, well, this will be fine and same methodology can be implemented as well to elongates the duration of your holdings, maybe we can say: If your initial target was to be 8 years interval before selling, you can definitely elongate or extend your holding your holdings to more 4-6 years time coming after you might have exhausted the previous 8 years. Of course the market would definitely keeps creating new ATH which could attracts traders or investors to sell and take quick profits from their investment/trading.

Even most of the trader/investors are easily being tempted by the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency they are holding, although i wouldn't classified shitcoin into this categories because as i know they are easily being manipulated being by their communities which could either caused a huge dump or new investors being rugged pulled. That is why I don't really classified shitcoin or altcoin into the general holding or becoming too generalizing on altcoin which easily entrapped newbie investors since these shticoin are all hypes on various media, especially the so called memecoin which. I can't directly or indirectly suggest or advised someone who is there next to me to investment in such coin because of their easily manipulation in the market, therefore, i specifically stays off from such shitcoin and tokens.
