I think there are a few reasons aged people might still gamble even in situations like the ones you described. While for some, it might be about staying engaged and maintaining a sense of independence in their lifestyle. Gambling could give them that little thrill or excitement even if it’s just pushing a button or watching the spins with different animations.
Then there is the social side where casinos can be active places, and for these aged who might feel isolated, it’s a chance to be surrounded by people and that energy. If they have family or caregivers with them it might even be a bonding activity.

On the other hand, you are right, vulnerability in a casino environment whether it’s overspending money or falling also falling in scam.

At the end of the day, as long as they are happy and not being exploited or putting themselves at risk, I think it’s their choice to enjoy it forever as long as it’s still safe.

The old ones still need to mingle and associate themselves with the society and traditional casino is one of the places you can see them in. Most of them are doing it for fun, because they are already old and understand gambling better.

There is no where that there is no vulnerability because we are humans. I saw an old man in one of the traditional casinos, I do go to and what baffles me is how he watches the game with full understanding, but he only bet twice and that was all.
