Often at times people refer to the French League as farmers leagues or not competitive at all and that's true if you at it critically, the only team in the French League is PSG for the past 14 years or so, the rich owner made sure the club buys the mostly the top player from the other teams in the league thereby reducing the chances of those other teams from competing with them. PSG will keep on struggling in Europe because they face no really competition from their leagues.
It is only natural that many people say that the French league is a farmer's league, because a club can dominate the league for a long time, even up to a decade. and before PSG won the French league was Olympique Lyonnais, they dominated the league for 7 seasons. and one of the main factors why the competition in the French league is not so competitive is because of the financial conditions of each club, and clubs that have strong finances, then they will dominate the league. However, if we talk about the farmer's league, I think this does not only happen in the French league, but in other top European leagues the same thing also happens, such as Bayern Munich who dominated the Bundesliga for quite a long time, and so too in La Liga where only Barcelona and Real Madrid dominate the league every season.
PSG is a club that destroys the market value of players, they often make fantastic offers when interested in the players they want. Their ambition is very high to be able to build the best club in the world, even though the results they get are still far from what is expected.
I don't think these two leagues fits into the contest of farmers leagues because even in the EPL that people claim is the best league, in recent years only 3 different teams has won it, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool worse of in the last 4 years only one team has been winning it, will this qualify EPL as a farmers league? of course NO, teams from this league has being doing so well in Europe and even winning it in the last 4 years. Same thing can never be said for the French league. La Liga in the last 10 has been won by 3 different teams, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid and of course they have also also been doing well in Europe especially Real Madrid.
Yes Bundesliga has had one team dominating it but i think Bayern's strength is way too much for other teams to cope with but Leverkusen last season did something great that even Bayern has never done, Unbeaten throughout the entire season. in Europe Bundesliga teams performs more better than any French league team PSG inclusive. I think two years ago, the French League was was even out of the top 5 leagues in Europe, replaced by the Portuguese league, it was that bad for them.
