See, working on holidays or vacations is an unpleasant event for everyone. But every person in the world needs money or money is a big motivation for almost every person in the world, so if you want to get work done in this unpleasant situation, you must spend that amount of money which we can call as opportunity cost. Again people really need some quiet time to boost their body and mind, especially those who work outside. So taking all those things into consideration you can request the employees to get work done, but of course there is no chance of forcing them, in that case every office head has to be a little strategic then it will be easy to get the work done.
Of course, everything needs money and by working, everything will be achieved but we also need refreshment, both physically and mentally, and to gather with family, whether to a predetermined place or another, it goes back to each individual. For me personally, if I have planned a vacation, it means I first turn off all my activities, meaning when I work, I work, when I relax, I relax at least it will give a sense of comfort and can enjoy it fully with my family.
