Why would you send Gill down when he's doing a good job as an opener? So far, he hasn't put a wrong foot in ODI so there is no need for any fix at the top. A natural transition will follow once Rohit goes (Hope, soon) and Jaiswal will get his deserving debut in the ODI.
It was more like I want Jaiswal desperately in the team, so suggested may be Gill can step down in order to make room for him. Regarding Jaiswal's ODI debut, pretty sure it'll happen in England series.
I didn't check the squad, so I don't know about the backup players, but I assume that Jaiswal is in the backup opening slot. Which England series? He's not in the 15 men's squad for the current one.
Jaiswal isn't in for T20 series, but he's in for ODI series that's starting soon after conclusion of current T20 series.
...
BTW, we have the first T20 of England's India tour tomorrow.
Are we going to witness 250+ scores...
...
Both teams are stacked up with gun battling line up and they bat deep as low as number 8 so it should be a big scoring game and the ground is small as well. Dew could play some part in the second inning though.
I have been wanting India to breach 300 runs in T20I for a while know, hopefully it happens in this series. If Sanju retains form, shouldn't be of much trouble.
Seems like players are not happy with the new BCI guidelines especially the one separating their family while travelling.

I do not think BCCI is serious about this new law as they have not officially announced it. I did check the official X.com account, I might have missed the tweet.
It was covered by reputed cricket media such as
espncricinfo, so I assume it's valid.
