It depends on the job. If I work as manual labour, I'd love to do less work and have a better work-life balance because manual labour jobs are physically very demanding and you can't do much when you come at home tired from work but if I work a job that has perspective to earn me more money and fame, then I'd choose more money and less time.
But manual labor is often not well paid and if you don't try to do more. Where will you get enough money to support your family and will spending time with them really make them happy without money? Meanwhile, if you already have a high-paying job, instead of continuing to trade off to achieve higher and higher goals, you should think about spending time with your family. You should find a way to balance your life because if fame doesn't bring happiness to your family, is it worth the trade-off?

I think that it also depends on personality. Some people are like family guys, and some are more independent and prefer to be alone and do everything alone. I know that family guys prefer to have less money but more time with their family.
I guess you are not married, right? Because people who have families and are responsible for their families, most of the time will always prioritize their families above all else.
