Anyone here seen that Anime coin that Binance is going to list tomorrow, it's rare to see Binnace list at the same time with other exchanges these days, I think the project is backed by Hyperliquid and Azuki NFT too.

I'm actually curious why an anime themed token doesn't fall in the category of a memecoin lol but I know it has good utilities from their website. The creators of anime coin actually called it a culture themed coin lol. It seems they just want to target anime lovers as their audience especially with the way they openly advertise the project as community driven. Nonetheless I'm curious to see how this will turn out. They already set to list on Binance, Bitget and OKX tomorrow, I'm not sure if there's any airdrop yet but their tokenomics says 13% of the allocation is for the community tho

It is nothing new, actually, a couple of years ago there was a NFT project called Waifu token. it was heavily targeted to anime lovers and offered people to buy and sell limited NTFs of anime girls wearing crypto-currency themed outfits and accessories, it was like collectable cards, animated (in the case of the most expensive ones) and I must admit it was very well done in terms of art and animation. Though, the project did not go as far as their investors assumed it would, and many people lost money in the way.
What would make this project you are talking about different from the Waifu project, which ended up with little market-capitalization and less NTF volumen than other projects?

I would advice anyone considering to invest in Waifu/anime related tokens or coins to be careful and see how the whale concentration is, don't forget that in the current state of the market there are more scams and rug pulls than actually projects developed in good faith.
