I think they will still use blockchain for secret purposes, or specifically information… related to security or defense issues for example. Given the special security nature of blockchain, especially bitcoin, they could use it for a number of purposes. We cannot know what they will experiment with or what the ultimate goal of the government is until they announce it.
I know for sure they definitely will cause having power in their hands they carry themselves so high that having anything to do with Blockchain is just like going above their decisions but clearly we may not know how badly they are wanting to have this at their finger tips but right now I presume they get involved with it in the secrets and possibly it'll sure pop out in the dim lights, regardless I believe the government will surely make use of Blockchain even beyond financial services.
