Seeing the odds given by bookies is more profitable for Sporting which has lower odds than Dortmund,it is possible because Sporting will play as the home team in the first leg but Amorim's departure has made Sporting's performance decline drastically in the UCL because they have not won since Amorim left so I prefer Dortmund who will most likely qualify for the last 16, because I saw Dortmund win their last game with the new coach.
But from another perspective when talking about opportunities, both clubs still have the same opportunity, especially for Dortmund, who certainly do not want to give up easily now after previously being finalists last year.
This will be a pretty interesting match in my opinion because looking at the situation, this could be a balanced match and only the game scheme and mentality can differentiate them later.
Home match or not, I think that Sporting Lisbon is the favorite in this duel between them and Borussia Dortmund. The home game is an advantage for both teams and I am aware that Dortmund has an incredible audience supporting them in their home stadium, which actually has been a huge advantage forever for them. But if you all sum it up, I think that Sporting is the slightly better and smarter team away from home. they are better at defending a lead with all tricks there are. Dortmund has been very susceptible to giving away leads this season and they have been very susceptible to surprisingly easy goals against them and this is what a team like Sporting knows how to exploit. My pick for this round is that Sporting will make it although I prefer Dortmund as a team in general. But not this season though as it was not fun to follow them.
