I think it's just us being human which is why the number of gambling addicts has grown. We always want more, we are greedy, and let's not deny that. But there are those who can control this greed that's why they can also prevent more losses and even take home a win. The growth of online casinos and the cheap way to gamble are also big factors today. If people have a hard time gambling because of less access then I don't think there will be many people who will do it.

Indeed right, if the access is not that easy then the growth will not going to rise high, there are some who can manage everything and be safe with their participation, while there are who got hook and become addicted, there are different perspectives and overview but the main factor is the person's capabilities and not anything else, if you have that self-will which most of the time the reason to control whatever emotion are trying to dominate you, then you can safely stop when it's needed for you to quit.

More on how the person can handle the pressure and how he can dictate what he needs to follow whatever limitation he set up for himself.

Yeah, that's how we can manage our habits, it needs a strong dominance over what our body tells us.

Those who already quit something in their life can easily do this again or control their gambling habits. Alcoholics, smokers, and drugs. In my case, it was smoking. It was really difficult to quit that habit and it took me 15 years before I totally got it out of my system.
Now when it comes to gambling, I can live without playing slots for like a week or more and just play sports betting with just little bets, and only in one sport which is the NBA. It's not as expensive as how it goes with slots because it ain't unlimited play. 2 or 3 games in sports and you are done for the day. Cheesy

Plus, the chances of winning are better than relying on an algorithm that you cannot win against.
