Damn man, you could have killed yourself. Was someone trying to break into your home? Luckily, I have never experienced something like that, but I would recommend that everyone arm themselves against intruders however they see fit. Better them than you if it comes to it. You don't have to shot the prick, but at least get a baseball bat or brass knuckles for your own safety. Or a nice custom-made billy club with razors in it or nails if you like that sort of thing. 
Haha, I think these weapons (clubs with nails) exist only in Silent Hill 2 (if you know the video-game).
Yeah, someone tried to break into the house, but they realised they were noisy and went down before I managed to reach the rooftop. I saw them running away. I don't want to talk about it because it was a tough moment.
