That makes sense. This is a gamble and risky trade for them but they are willing to make things right later on and test what will work for JJ as per Rob. I just can't help myself in believing on the kid because he's got the potential but maybe that's his destiny and he will be honed there after some years of being with them.
And for what it's worth for, Williams, who is averaging 16.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. So that is a huge contribution if he can have this numbers in the Lakers uniform. It is also reported that Rob consulted with Luka about this trade and he was 100% down with that.
As per the report, Luka wanted a big men, like what he had in the Dallas uniform that he can ally-oop pass in Gafford and Lively. So expect the same plays that will screen for Luka and then that pass for a easy dunk.
Luka just got traded to the team, no offense but i dont think the GM called luka up to see if it was ok if he could make a trade for mark williams. Everyone knows the lakers were shopping for a big man. Williams just happened to be that guy. Lakers are taking a stab with a center who sits as much as he plays. Healthy its a great pickup. But big guys with injury concerns typically never end up getting better through the years.
