The trend is friend and customers first so if customers have demand, the company have to put it into consideration to serve their customers. It's not like too adaptive to newborn trend because it can make your platform is like a scam heaven, but if the trend is long enough, tested enough by the market and community, it's not harmful to give community and users what they'd love to have.
