I didn't know about that information - but from what I can see, the prices I saw on some sites from their resellers seemed to be without VAT, but now that price is approximately EUR 250, which is the price that has been in effect since before.
Interesting. I could swear that I read they ship their EU orders from Europe, which ultimately brought the prices down. But after seeing your post, I went to the official site to create an order with a EU address. They add tax on the $199 value of the device + $16 for EU shipping. Added together, that's $260 if you pay in fiat. Perhaps we will get some more information from @foundationdvcs about this.
