Really? I mean, come on. I already showed in this thread and proved that newbie or everyone can posts URL without URL tags if you actually bothered to read it (which let's be real, most of you didn't).
What substantial difference to curious ones does it make if you can just click a link or select the text of a link and your browser either allows you to open a new tab or window by that selected link destination text or you copy/paste it in a new browser tab or window? One is more convenient than the other, but that's basically all. It doesn't change much for possible judgement, if a link destination is safe or not.

If you want to play safe you would need to open all links of unknown destination in well fenced sandboxes.

Like, newbies can't post images anyway, so it's not like restricting them is going to make a difference.
Nonsense! Newbies can post images, those just don't show as images as long as the user hasn't ranked up to Jr. Member. When the user has ranked up sufficiently his pictures are shown as pictures. No issue here in my opinion. And when cited by Jr. Member and higher ranks those [img]<pic url>[/img] show perfectly fine as images.

A word to the uninformed: This text isn't created by magic, it's just a result of complex math calculations (AI)
What's this nonsense for?
