I think the early goal he scored with his first attempt affected his confidence positively and set the tone for the game. Mbappe with his increasing confidence is already raising the bar for himself and distinguishing himself from his teammates scoring in almost every game for Real Madrid, flourishing as a striker, a position which he was not playing exactly before. He played from the wing not the middle.
