I think most times they don't want to accept the truth because they have lost so much money to gambling and won't stop till they probably make it back.. that's obviously going to put them into more depts. Knowing when you have become addicted is what helps the most to prevent spending part your budget. The public has no say over your life, but if you see someone who's willing to notice you and tell you about your addiction, then you should take their advice seriously and stop.

It's hard to say if someone won't become addicted after they keep trying to play and chasing their losses, sometimes those who are addicted have realised too late and of course it will no longer be useful because after all getting out of an addiction is not an easy thing, for me personally preventing not getting addicted is clearly more effective than we have to find solutions to get out of the addiction, if we don't want to find solutions to all the problems we face, isn't it too naive if we expect the public to solve all our problems with addiction and losses due to gambling so far?

That just means the person lacks self-awareness. I mean, we can always tell if our gambling habit is getting out of hand, and the first sign is we are always short financially. That is the time when we ask ourselves if we are still going in the right direction or if should we stop it to save ourselves from causing more chaos in our lives.
We will come to a point where we will realize we are screwing our own budget and it's all because of uncontrolled gambling which I do believe can happen to anyone but the awareness part will also be there. Now, it will just depend on us if we should quit to avoid more incoming problems.
