Poor or not poor, what really matters to a lot of people with such salary is that they are contented with it as long as it's enough to foot their everyday bills and care for the family. Some people don't even want to be extremely rich, they just want to live a life that they can afford for themselves and their family. So poor is when you are suffering that you can not even afford to provide for yourself or you family.
Hearing what you said, this is actually something that will come back to each of us. For example, we have our own definition or standards for interpreting wealth, it can be said that each person's standards regarding wealth are different.
Yes, sometimes I also hear someone say that they don't need to be rich, as long as they are sufficient. But that also comes from the mouth of someone who is economically good or can be said to be upper middle class. I even heard people say that the most important thing is peace, because it is useless to be rich but not peaceful. But the problem is when we are economically lacking, how can we be peaceful.
I have seen, and sort of agree, that if you and all your loved ones are safe and healthy, that's wealth. Sometimes it is as simple as that, if your loved ones are healthy, if you are healthy, if you are not in any danger, like living an ok life, don't have to be rich, could be even considered "poor" as long as it is not poverty, like can eat food and sleep at home, that's it, if all of you are that level at lowest, then you are considered wealthy. I do sort of agree to it, of course we should be happy with that, not saying you should be upset.
However, that sometimes feels like what wealthy pressures us into thinking, we could have so much more, if we only had a fair taxing in our world, then we could do a lot better.
