You completely missed my point: the old rule already exists and it is stricter. Why make a new rule? Besides, what is the logic in awarding a corner kick? It is complete nonsense and nonsense compared to a free kick which, within the penalty area, almost turns into a penalty kick.
I see exactly zero justification for introducing this new rule. Now it will be even easier for goalkeepers to burn time.

Yes, if I compare the old and new rules with what you said, of course I think the old rules are better and stricter, maybe I won't mind the additional 2 seconds for the goalkeeper to hold the ball in this new rule, but I don't agree with the replacement of corner kicks from the referee for those who violate, I prefer the old way where free kicks are given, it's much more dangerous. I don't know what IFAB's considerations are for ratifying lighter rules like this for next season.
