Most of them are holding the coin not because they really want to but become they were forced to have it locked up for some periods of years to increase their mining rate during mining. Many didn’t know it’ll list soon, so they had it locked up for many years that’s why many people are still holding to it. Advantages is that it will give strength and back up to the coin not to fall and get rugged anytime soon.

Pi is an altcoin and you can’t vouch too much for any altcoin. They may always come a time it will disappoint its holders. So make the best out of it for now even though it’s transgressing on a good path now and have a lot of future prospect potentials.

Even though some locked their coins unknowingly just like you stated….on the other hand i’m sure a fair amount of users have decided to sell some of the coins they have unlocked and hold. Some don’t want to sell incase it makes an uptrend now.
