Milan just like any other team could have bad seasons and they are having one bad season right now. Having a bad season doesn't mean end of the world, sure they are unhappy with this season and they were not happy with last season neither, but they have what it takes to switch things around and get to winning.
...
Milan's condition is really sad. They are far away from their good old times. I don't mean the times with their legendary squad in the distant past of course, haha. That shouldn't even be in the comparison because they were completely a different team those days.

I just mean the times with Pioli when they even won a Serie A title. It shouldn't be too difficult to bring that back, right? It is also related to taking the right steps. Sérgio Conceição first made me excited because of achieving a trophy right after his arrival. But now they are out of the Champions League and struggling too much in the domestic league. There is only Coppa Italia left to be successful now. But I don't trust them there either. I hope he makes a good effort and start next season in a much stronger shape...
This is the same for every team that once has been at the very top, the teams get compared to where they are coming from with respect to a certain time horizon. Now the last title for AC Milan isn't too long ago in Serie A, that's only a few years. But they still get compared to those big times when they won the Champions League, but to be honest here even if they are still a decent team, no chance they are going to win that competition anytime soon. That's too much of a gap compared to the biggest teams.
In Serie A you can see that some of those other teams are doing great job while I sometimes think that AC Milan is buying players that get sacked elsewhere. Great talents like Pulisic who play some great games and then focus is on them, but they don't play the same level all the time, which is what the club needs if they want to compete for titles. I think they have too many of these "every-now-and-then" players.
