Not only that, but also the containerization of the apps helps a lot security-wise.
In simple terms, all the apps on android (and iOS), are independent.
If an attacker gains unauthorized access to an application, this doesn't necessarily mean they can get access to other apps inside the same phone.

Apps on their own may not be able to do something fishy but user must be careful giving permissions. For example, giving 'device admin' permission to malicious app may result in disaster.
